As a thank-you for your time and effort, volunteers earn items that can be redeemed for a variety of perks. Full details on volunteer benefits are outlined below.

Volunteering is a great way to get involved without a large time commitment. For those interested in taking on a bigger role, we also invite you to explore our staffing opportunities.

Volunteer Rewards
Each volunteer will receive a custom t-shirts, sticker pack, and a food voucher for the food truck! Every volunteer will also receive a volunteer lanyard.
Our Volunteer Roles Include:
Registration Volunteer
Support registration staff by resupplying and restocking registration materials, and providing additional support for line management during peak registration hours.
Guest Relations
Support Event coordinator by helping take care of the Special Guests & Honored Guests.
A/V Volunteer
Assist A/V staff with setup and take down of A/V equipment in event space. Theater tech or similar experience is preferred.
Vendor Hall Volunteer
Provide support for vendors and attendees, including running water to vendors and providing information regarding the vendor hall.
Set-up & Break-down Volunteer (Pre/Post Only)
Help unload the truck of convention equipment before the con, and pack it up at the end of the con. Also, help will be needed getting equipment in and out of storage, off site from the convention. This position is labor intensive and requires the ability to move heavy objects.
Set-up and break-down will also be needed for a few specific areas in addition to general set-up/break-down.
Safety Volunteer​
Supplement security patrols and provide as needed coverage for safety staff.
Line Control Volunteer
Support safety staff in keeping lines orderly and moving smoothly.
Badge Check Volunteer
Check that attendees have a badge before entering a convention area. This position can be done while seated and with limited movement.
Volunteer Runner
Support the volunteer department by checking on volunteers out in the con space and relieving them for bathroom/water breaks, and be on standby for any unexpected volunteer needs.
Panels Volunteer
Assist panels team in resetting rooms between panels. This will likely involve moving tables and chairs in a short period of time.
Events Volunteer
Help with setup and breakdown of major con events, like concerts and games. You will be expected to arrive before the event in question, stay during the event, and breakdown right afterwards.
Miscellaneous/As-Needed Volunteer
Help will be needed throughout the con for some event specific tasks, such as the crowd control for the entry way and night market, or logistics for the charity auction.

Volunteer Terms & Conditions
By participating in Ashika-Con, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ashika-Con, its affiliates, directors, staff, volunteers, and associates from any and all claims, actions, or liabilities brought by or on my behalf that are related to my participation in the convention.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in activities organized, operated, or sanctioned by Ashika-Con, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Policies & Code of Conduct
I have read, understand, and agree to comply with all Ashika-Con policies, including but not limited to the Code of Conduct, Dress Code, Weapons Policy, and any other rules or procedures posted on the official Ashika-Con website.

Applicability of Policies
I understand that Ashika-Con policies, procedures, and participation guidelines are in effect at all times while I am present at the convention venue(s), official hotel(s), and surrounding event spaces during Ashika-Con.

Badge & Admission Acceptance
Acceptance of any badge, membership, or admission credential issued by Ashika-Con constitutes agreement to the following:

(a) A release of Ashika-Con from liability for loss, damage, personal injury, property damage, or infringement of rights, or any related claims of any kind.

(b) Permission for Ashika-Con and its designees to use my name, voice, image, and likeness in any media, now known or hereafter developed, for promotional or informational purposes, in perpetuity.

(c) Agreement to follow all convention rules and regulations.

Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk
I understand that my participation in Ashika-Con is voluntary. Some activities may involve physical movement, including but not limited to dancing, role-playing, or interactive events, which may carry inherent risks. I acknowledge these risks and affirm that I am physically able to participate, have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation, and assume full responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur. I also acknowledge that Ashika-Con events take place in facilities open to the public.

Medical Care Authorization
In the event that I require medical attention while participating in Ashika-Con, I authorize Ashika-Con staff to use reasonable judgment in obtaining medical assistance on my behalf. I grant permission to licensed medical professionals to provide necessary care and acknowledge that I am solely responsible for all medical costs incurred, including services, equipment, and supplies.
