Help us build an unforgettable experience

Ready to be part of something special? We’re so excited that you’re interested in joining the Ashika-Con team! Our staff work together to create a welcoming, fun, and memorable experience for every attendee, and we rely on dedicated community members like you to help bring the event to life.

All Ashika-Con staff roles are volunteer positions, meaning they are unpaid. We are a community-driven convention powered by the enthusiasm and commitment of our amazing volunteers. That said, we’re happy to offer meaningful perks and benefits as a thank-you for your time and support — keep reading to learn more about what comes with being part of our team.

Before applying, please take a moment to review the information below so you understand the expectations and opportunities that come with each role. We can’t wait to get to know you! If none of the listed positions feel like the right fit, you’re welcome to suggest your own role in your application.
Our Expectations of You
We are looking for individuals who bring enthusiasm, reliability, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset. As part of the Ashika-Con team, you will play an important role in helping us create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Your involvement as an Ashika-Con staff member directly supports the success of the event and the community we are building. For “Seasonal” roles, we generally ask for a commitment of about four hours per day during the convention. Our “Core” team members take on additional responsibilities throughout the year, including planning and preparation leading up to the event.

Whether you have a particular skill you’d like to contribute or are interested in helping wherever needed, we’re glad to have you. Letting us know where you feel you’d fit best helps us place you in the right role. If you don’t see a position that matches your interests, you are welcome to suggest one that you feel suits your experience and strengths.

To keep everyone informed and connected, we host a few online meetings before the convention for all volunteers and staff. We understand that not everyone can attend every meeting, but they are a helpful way to stay updated. We also use Slack and Google Workspace to share information and coordinate, so regular check-ins are appreciated.

For our Core team, we hold periodic meetings throughout the year to track progress and prepare for the event. While attendance isn’t required for most of the year, we do expect Core members to participate more consistently in the final months before Ashika-Con.

We truly appreciate the time and effort our staff members contribute, and we recognize that these roles require real commitment. If you’re looking for a lighter way to get involved, we offer many volunteer opportunities during the convention itself. If you’re ready to take on a staff role, we encourage you to review our available positions and see what feels like the right fit for you.
